Sometimes being the venue for someone elses party just isn't enough. Sometimes in life you have to throw your own. This month, The Charles hosts our own party. Our 3rd in a decade. So, we are dealing.g with the same issues every bride goes through: available date, who to invite, how many or few to invite, colors, decorations, menu for foods, and BUDGET. Doing it ourselves, experiencing it ourselves, makes us all too in tune with our renters needs .

Always be sure to ask exactly what's included and EXACTLY what's not.

When pricing your event remember a few things: the wedding venue relies on new business each week, not repeat business.

So what is included? Compare not just the rooms, but what else each provides. Also, be sure to consider what is NOT included. What does the venue not provide which you will have to rent seperately. Those hidden costs of renting tables, chairs, linens, and utensils make the cheapest room the most expensive.

Finally, do not forget experience. What is the sites record of producing a consistant quality event. The Charles tries to be one of the most inclusive in product of all the venues in town. That is why The Charles remains the Premier Banquet and Event Venue.

Welcome to The Charles Web Page Blog!

(We admit, we have no clue how to blog, and this is our first entry - please bear with us as we learn).

We hope you enjoy your tour of The Charles Web Page. We have made major and significant changes to the web page just as we have made changes at The Charles. Our first event so many years ago was as a gift to a family friend who had lost her reception hall. With that one event requests snowballed, and a new business was born. We are proud to be referred to by our vendor list friends as the premier venue in the Johnson City. We thank all our past guests and vendors for helping make us who we are.

Please watch this space for announcements on upcoming specials and sales, as well as comments on current work. We also hope to include tips for brides planning their events.
